Maximise your sponsorship with JustGiving

Now is the time to set up your personalised JustGiving online fundraising page.

It’s easy to start fundraising with JustGiving. You can set up an account so that your supporters can donate online, and you can keep them updated on your progress.

Once you've set up your JustGiving page, don’t forget to:

• Personalise your message
• Add a photo to your page
• Tell EVERYONE about your challenge and how to sponsor you
• Email relative, friends and colleagues
• Publicise your page on facebook, myspace and twitter
• Put a link in your email signature
• Send a follow up email – be persistent
• Personalise your thank you message
• Contact your local media to explain what you are doing (see our guidance on promoting your fundraising for advice on how to write a press release)
• Check if your workplace offers matched funding to recognise all of your efforts
• Keep fundraising after the event – 20% of donations come in after you have crossed the finish line - update people to let them know you did it, and include a final appeal.

TIP: before you email your entire address book ask your closest friends and family to donate first as it will encourage others to sponsor you. People tend to match the donations already on the page (so if they are generous amounts, all the better!).
