Mud Glorious Mud

On Saturday 15 March, Friendship Works’ CEO Iain Cassidy, Chair, George Dunnett, Trustees, Lorcan McHugh, Craig Morley and Nachaat Tahmaz  and Caseworker Neil Nute braved the mud and hills of Bordon Heath in Hampshire to take on the Brutal 10k raising funds for Friendship Works. Our intrepid team ran up hills, crossed rivers and soggy marshes and got very, very, very muddy!

With understandable pre race nerves our team all made it round in one piece and they even finished in the top half, every single one of them! Our Chair, George, had this to say at the end, ‘I don’t know about everyone else but I actually think I enjoyed it!’

We’re immensely proud of our team and are thrilled to announce that currently the amount they have raised is £5,500 and this sum is still heading North.

We’d like to thank our team for the huge commitment they put in to training and fundraising and suggest that anyone inspired by their story take a look at other challenge events on offer here.  You can also e-mail events@friendshipworks.org.uk or call the Friendship Works office if you’d like to take on a challenge and raise funds for Friendship Works.

If it’s not your cup of tea, you can still show your support by sponsoring Iain, George, Lorcan, Craig, Nachaat and Neil at www.justgiving.com/FriendshipWorksBrutal10K . Every pound you give will help Friendship Works reach our goal of supporting over 200 children and young people in difficulty this year.
