A Brutal Challenge for Friendship Works Trustees

At 10am on Saturday 15 March, Friendship Works’ CEO Iain Cassidy and Trustees Lorcan McHugh, Craig Morley and Nachaat Tahmaz will be under starter’s orders on a chilly heath in Hampshire, waiting to start a brutal 10K race which will see them battling up hills, grinding their way through sand, crossing freezing rivers and soggy marshes and wading through muddy swamps. And why?

Our fearless four are taking part in the “Brutal 10K” to raise much-needed funds for Friendship Works. They are understandably nervous about their challenge – for some it’s the thought of the icy water, for others it’s the fear of what might lie beneath the surface of those swamps – but training has started in earnest and they are determined not to lose face!

We are calling on anybody who would like to take part in the event, to join the Friendship Works team. Registration is just £16 and you can take the course at your own pace and just enjoy getting muddy and raising whatever you can to support our work. Just e-mail events@friendshipworks.org.uk or call the Friendship Works office and we’ll help get you set up.

If it’s not your cup of tea, you can still show your support by sponsoring Iain, Lorcan, Craig and Nachaat at www.justgiving.com/FriendshipWorksBrutal10K . Every pound you give will help Friendship Works reach our goal of supporting over 200 children and young people in difficulty in 2014.
