Almeida Theatre Event 2010

Friendship Works and we aren’t the only ones who think so. Check out the Friendship Works hall of fame to see our supporters in action…

Every year, Friendship Works runs a number of themed events to raise funds. Last year’s was a Christmas celebration of childhood, an evening with the stars at the Almeida Theatre in Islington.

Guests sipped Courvoisier champagne cocktails to the sound of music from the glamour-filled forties, before retiring to the auditorium to watch the show. Sir Ian McKellan, Richard Stilgoe, Tim Pigott-Smith and Dan Stevens were just some of the performers who shared their experiences of mentoring and childhood with the audience, and Kevin Spacey made a special appearance in a film he had made for the event to show how Friendship Works.

A fun-filled three-course dinner followed the show, with a fast and furious auction hosted by Jon Snow.

The star-studded evening raised £60,000 for Friendship Works, which will go to provide essential support to vulnerable children across London. This year’s event is currently being planned and promises to be even more spectacular.
