London is a wonderful place to enjoy Christmas. Festive lights, markets, ice-skating, Santa’s grotto, pantomimes…..the list is endless. Many of the children supported by Friendship Works have never experienced these activities, despite having grown up in our capital. A Friendship Works mentor can support an isolated young person by taking them out at weekends to talk, explore, try new experiences and build their social and emotional skills. Just £23 will pay for a child to go on a special Christmas outing with their mentor this year. If you would like to help, please follow this link: Donate
We believe that long-term friendships can make the biggest difference, so each of our volunteers commits to supporting a child for at least two years. A monthly gift of £23 could pay for up to 70 hours of activities and 1:1 support for one of our friendships. If you would like to commit to supporting one of our friendships, please follow this link: Donate
In 2014 Friendship Works will support approximately 200 children and young people in Camden, Islington and Southwark. A gift of £828 would pay for a child and their mentor to go on outings together for a year – that’s over 100 hours of support and friendship for a vulnerable child. On behalf of all of our friendships, Happy Christmas and Thank You.
